Brief description of the project goals: The goal of the project is to increase competencies in identifying threats related to hazardous materials. The project is located at the Faculty of New Technologies and Chemistry (WTC). The long-term goal of the project is to establish a Center of Excellence for Hazardous Materials within the structures of MUT. By dangerous materials, we mean explosives, toxic materials and biologically active substances. During intentionally caused incidents involving the use of the above-mentioned groups of hazardous materials, they may occur together, which disproportionately increases the complexity of the operation aimed at removing the threat. The social benefits resulting from the implementation of the project will be multi-level. Starting from the Academy level: new specialized equipment will be purchased, a new interdepartmental team of specialists (15-20 people) will be created, critically sensitive and necessary knowledge in the area of national security will be acquired, a new field of study will be created to transfer the knowledge acquired during the project implementation, to services responsible for national security will receive a new tool to improve their work, and ultimately the level of security of the entire society will increase.
